We in the clinical trials industry are a community made up of countless numbers of people from thousands of companies. Even among our competitors, we are one family, united in our roles in the in the day-to-day lives (health!) of men, women, and children everywhere.

We look forward to seeing each other at industry events, where we share information that can make us more effective in our important endeavors. We were delighted to see Dan McDonald receive an award, surrounded by industry colleagues, at the OECT 2020 Summit.

Below is our press release with details about the award:

Dan McDonald of Imperial Clinical Research Services has been honored with the 10th Annual OECT Speaker Achievement Award.

McDonald, Imperial vice president of business development and patient engagement subject matter expert, was given the award during a ceremony at the 10th Annual Operational Excellence in Clinical Trials (OECT) Trials Summit in Munich on March 4.

The award was presented by Sachin Sharma, planning committee member and senior partner of OECT creator KP Morgan Group. “We are pleased to award Dan McDonald and thank him for his contribution to many OECT summits as a valued keynote speaker, presenter, and moderator regarding important clinical trial subjects,” Sharma said.

“Dan added significant value to the 10th Annual OECT Summit agenda,” Sharma said. “Dan delivered an amazing session and conducted an important patient interview that put a clear light on the patient-centric approach. And his colleague Imogen Cheese, Imperial business development director, gave us a personal perspective with her own story of navigating the health care system.”

“I am very grateful to receive this award,” McDonald said. “OECT is an important event, and all of us here share a mission to assist each other in our roles and to consistently lead advances in our industry. I am happy to share this moment with everyone at OECT.”

McDonald has supported biopharmaceutical companies and CROs in planning and executing their clinical trials for more than 20 years. He has written for industry publications, books, and ebooks, presented at many conferences, and conducted numerous workshops on the subject of patient engagement. The OECT summit draws health care, medical, and clinical trial professionals with a focus on addressing study feasibility and patient recruitment and retention. The annual event is sponsored by Ireland-based KP Morgan Group.
