And here is our regular feature in which we highlight a different person each week. This time around, we note that Rejuvenate Bio hired Deborah Ascheim as chief medical officer. Previously, she worked at StrideBio, where she was chief medical officer, and before that, she headed the d2a clinical and product development consulting firm.
But all work and no play can make for a dull chief medical officer. So in her spare time, Ascheim enjoys taking pictures. “I got started as a kid, when I got my first 35mm, which was a rough-and-tumble, no frills Minolta. It was a great workhorse… I prefer 35mm, black and white. It’s my favorite thing to work in, but I do have to say I finally started using a digital camera, but I go back and forth. It’s a different medium and feel. Capturing what you take instantaneously changes the way you appreciate what you see.” And what does she like to capture? “I tend to focus more on inanimates, architectural, abstraction. I like to identify little moments, areas in a building, or a street, where you can see the planes and lines,” which is a nod to the influence from her father, who was an architect.
