And here is our regular feature in which we highlight a different person each week. This time around, we note that eFFECTOR Therapeutics hired Douglas Warner as chief medical officer. Previously, he worked at Amgen, where he most recently was executive medical director, group product area lead.
But all work and no play can make for a dull chief medical officer. So in his spare time, Warner likes to garden, a pastime that he began nurturing during the pandemic, when “I was stationed at my house and couldn’t do much. I began with herbs so we could cook with them, but then spread to trees.” What kind? He’s growing lemon, lime, kumquat, and fig. “It’s quite challenging. There’s a lot of upkeep. Los Angeles has great weather, but I live in an area that can get quite hot and if you don’t pay attention, they can get damaged…You’re always battling forces of nature.”
