And here is our regular feature in which we highlight a different person each week. This time around, we note that Zymeworks hired Paul Moore as chief scientific officer. Previously, he worked at MacroGenics, where he was vice president, cell biology and immunology.

But all work and no play can make for a dull chief scientific officer. So in his spare time, Moore likes to golf. He prefers not to disclose his handicap — “it’s in the single digits; higher single digits” —but enjoys regular outings “to get some peace and quiet and clear my head.” He generally plays about two to three times a month, often doing nine holes, but once a month, will play 18 holes with some friends. “Besides the exercise, I enjoy the mental aspect. You don’t want to be head down to a bad shot. But how do you respond when you don’t play so well and keep your emotions under control?”
