And here is our regular feature in which we highlight a different person each week. This time around, we note that Harpoon Therapeutics hired Luke Walker as chief medical officer. Previously, he worked at Seagen, where he was most recently vice president, clinical development.
But all work and no play can make for a dull chief medical officer. So in his spare time, Walker likes to play the piano, which he took up at age 5. He entered some competitions as a youngster and, during medical school residency he took out a loan for a small, upright model. But during Covid, Walker bought a grand piano for his 50th birthday party, where he performed for “100 of my closet friends.” Typically, he plays for 15 to 30 minutes five days a week and bangs out classical pieces, lots of Broadway tunes, and indulges his friends in karaoke when they stop by.
