And here is our regular feature in which we highlight a different person each week. This time around, we note that Dianthus Therapeutics hired Susan Kalled as chief scientific officer. Previously, she worked at Compass Therapeutics, where she was also chief scientific officer and, before that, was vice president of biology at Q32 Bio.
But all work and no play can make for a dull chief scientific officer. So in her spare time, Kalled likes to run. “I run every morning,” she tells us. “It’s my relaxation, my piece of mind. I get to be by myself, thinking things through. It gets me out. I run outside, regardless of the weather. There’s something therapeutics being outside for me, even if it’s cold.” And she runs four miles a day, but doesn’t do marathons. “Long distance is not my thing, but I was a sprinter in high school and college.”
