Carver’s biggest successes came from peanuts, as he developed more than 300 food, industrial and commercial products from the nut, including milk, cooking and salad oils, Worcestershire sauce, paper, cosmetics, soaps and wood stains. Since then, the cells have been used to test sensitivity to various products ranging from glue to cosmetics.
